Paws in the Park
We transformed an abandoned lot into a vibrant dog park with agility equipment and shaded areas. Now over 200 dogs visit daily with their owners, creating a thriving community hub.
Join our movement to transform our city into a haven for pets and their humans. Together we can build a community where every paw is welcome. We're working with local businesses, parks, and residents to make our city the most pet-friendly in the region.
Discover our mission to create a truly pet-friendly urban environment
Founded in 2018, AniPaw City began as a grassroots movement to transform urban spaces into welcoming environments for pets and their owners. We believe that a city that embraces pets is a city that embraces community, compassion, and quality of life for all residents.
Through strategic partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations, we've implemented innovative solutions like pet waste stations, designated pet zones in parks, and pet-friendly patio certifications for restaurants.
Our team of dedicated volunteers works tirelessly to advocate for policies that benefit pets and their owners, organize community events, and provide resources for responsible pet ownership.

Our certification program evaluates businesses based on several criteria: providing water bowls, having pet-friendly seating areas, training staff in pet safety, offering pet treats or menu items, and maintaining a clean environment. Businesses that meet these standards receive our official certification and are listed in our pet-friendly directory.
We have multiple volunteer opportunities: event coordination, park cleanups, fostering pets, community outreach, and administrative support. No prior experience is needed - we provide training for all positions. Fill out our volunteer form to get started, and our coordinator will contact you within 48 hours to discuss options that match your interests and availability.
If you find a stray animal, first ensure your safety and the animal's. If the animal appears approachable, check for identification tags. If possible, contain the animal in a safe space. Contact our 24/7 animal rescue hotline at (555) PET-RESCUE. We'll dispatch a team to assist and scan for microchips. If the animal appears injured or aggressive, maintain distance and call animal control immediately.
Yes! We maintain an updated database of pet-friendly housing options. Currently, 42 apartment complexes and numerous private landlords participate in our program, offering various pet policies. We also advocate for fair pet policies and provide resources for tenants and landlords to create pet agreements that protect both parties.
Our adoption process has four steps: 1) Complete an online application, 2) Attend a virtual orientation, 3) Schedule a meet-and-greet with the pet, and 4) Home visit (virtual or in-person). The entire process typically takes 3-7 days. We require adopters to be at least 21 years old, provide proof of address, and demonstrate the ability to care for the pet. Adoption fees cover vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchipping.
